The mystical island of Langkawi is home to The Andaman at Datai Bay. Situated between the majestic Mat Cincang Range and the deep blue Andaman Sea, the RESORT has been built in the middle of a virgin tropical rainforest. Centuries old trees, many with huge buttress roots and jungle creepers envelope the resort creating a haven far from the bustle of city life.

Accommodation

The Andaman has 186 deluxe rooms and suites. Each is furnished with king or twin beds, minibar, coffee and tea making facilities, writing desk and chair, individually controlled air-conditioning, hairdryer, ceiling fan, in-room safety box and IDD telephone lines. Lanai rooms feature sunning decks with umbrella and are on the first floor.

The Executive Suites, Malaysian Suite and Presidential Suite features king-size beds while the Japanese suite has twin beds. Each suite has one bedroom, a separate living area, spacious balcony and private bar. The Japanese and Malaysia suites are also decorated in authentic style.

The Japanese Restaurant
Located on ground floor Level 1, overlooking the swimming pool, the restaurant offers authentic Japanese cuisine, including favourites like Sushi, Sashimi or Tempura. An extensive A-la-carte menu is available. Two Teppanyaki counters for live cooking, as well as two separate, private Titami rooms for a traditional way of Japanese dining. Gozen and Andaman Gozen Set Menus are offered.

The Gulai House
Located 300 meters away from the hotel building into the heart of rainforest experience of walking over an old Kampung "Titi Bridge" and lit pathway with the sound of the jungle and the ocean in the background on the way to this very unique Malay traditional "Kampung Style" restaurant. Open-air Malay House style with Malay and Indian cuisine. Two styles of seating, either Nobat- where you can experience dining by sitting on the floor and normal dining table. Different daily Chef Specials are offered, as well as Set Menus and an extensive a-la-carte menu. Malay cultural show featuring traditional musicians and dances are performed every Sunday from 2000 to 2200 hrs

The Spa

The Spa has three villas; two duplex-style Rainforest Villa overlook the Andaman Sea and includes: two massage beds on each level, large bathtub, garden shower and relaxation terrace. The very private Sari Villa offers more lavish facilities, including a large jacuzzi, garden-shower and relaxation terrace.

There Traditional Thai Massage starts with a relaxing Aromatherapy Foot Polish, followed by a Herbal Steam Bath and a Massage ending with a Herbal Poultice to sooth aches and pains.

Swimming Pool
The Andaman's exquisite landscaped swimming pool is located at the Poolside Terrace, overlooking the beachfront.

Mountain bikes
Arrange with our Concierge make use of our mountain bikes to explore the surrounding area. Follow either our jogging rails or for more adventurous rides, go off track on our jungle trails. Use of mountain bikes are complimentary.

Tennis
The tennis courts are located at The Datai Bay Golf Course and are available from 07h30 to 22h30. Please book the courts and transfers through the Concierge. Guests are to be charged RM30 per hour during the day and RM50 per hour when night lights are required. The cost of the court is RM20.00 per hour from 07h30 until 19h30 and RM40.00 per hour from 19h30 until 22h30. For tennis lessons or just a game with the coach, please contact the Concierge for details.
